Code of Behaviour
Student Code of Conduct
The staff and community at Whiteshell Colony School believe that our students demonstrate the following values: self-respect, respect for others and respect for property in all school related functions. It is the school’s expectations that our students will be accountable for their behavior. It is also the responsibility of our staff to teach and model these values and behaviours. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of our staff to consistently hold students accountable to the School and to Sunrise School Division’s guidelines in order to provide a safe learning environment.
On occasion, students may make poor choices or display unacceptable behaviours. The staff at Whiteshell Colony School understands that sometimes unacceptable behaviours will occur when students are joking around or involved in horseplay. The policy of the Sunrise School Division reflects the beliefs, guidelines, and practices that support a safe, secure, caring, and positive learning educational setting. Bullying, or abusing physically, sexually, psychologically, orally, or in writing or otherwise by any person is absolutely unacceptable. The determining factor in bullying and harassment is the difference in power between the bully/harasser and the victim. This could be a difference in size, age, social responsibility, or group versus individual.
